  • Riu Palace Aruba

  • Riu Palace Aruba

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Only negative are the beds. A little to firm for me. Well hard as a rock might be a better description.

My review keeps getting deleted.. Here it is again!!! .. Just got back I just got back from my ninth trip to Aruba and this being my seventh stay at The RIU Palace Aruba The good, the bad and the ugly.... GOOD They have renovated a large part of this hotel including color changes and chairs. They have added a " coffee bar" in the main bar. They added a stage to the outdoor bar and changed the tables/chairs The nightly entertainment has been stepped up considerably. Love the new furniture at the pool bar sitting area. The staff were wonderfully friendly. I paid for an ocean view Suite and this is what I got, I did request one with the jacuzzi the balcony but didn't get it, still was happy with what I paid for (UNTIL THE LAST DAY... WAIT FOR THAT PART IN THE UNGLY) Now for the BAD This reservation system they changed a couple years ago of eating at three a'la carts per seven night stay is so stupid and low class and NOT expected at a " five star" resort .. At least not in a place where I spend $6,000.00 to go to and end up eating at a Buffett 4/7 nights .. That is wrong!!! The restaurants are VERY disappointing now ( who ever was the manger and assistant manager five years ago.. BEG THEM TO COME BACK!) Food at the beach steak house.. This place used to have the lobster with the steak and the nice plater of seafood as well as the peppercorn gravy, the steak was raw when I asked for " extremely well done" We walked out after I sent the steak back because what they brought me back was horrid .. Enough. Food at the Italian, hotel was at 50% capacity and we were not able to get in there this time ( I guess they were too busy with the TWO tables that were being used) not a big loss anyways the food there is not seafood allergy friendly and when asked last year if the spaghetti had any fish in it ... Actually I asked many times because the servers English is poor , they answered " no , spaghetti and a Red sauce" I ordered it and it was quite visible that there was scallops and shrimp in there.... Very dangerous. Krystal's steak house: this is a hit and miss kinda place, my meal was good and my steak cooked perfectly, my husbands duck was excellent he says. We wish we could have booked this every night but then again at the RIU resort there are only 3 resteraunts you are allowed to eat at.. So really why go to a resort that has " 7 restaurants" but you can only have three sit down meals and really only one place is half decent. Japanese: was alright from others visits we had prior years , couldn't get in this one either so I can't say if it got worse or not.. Buffett: there was only the one Buffett for lunch as they closed the Nautilus Buffett while we were down ( never saw anyone working in there , I'm guessing they just didn't want to open it until the hotel had more people in it .. Let the other guests deal with it.. DEFFINATLY didn't get what you paid for when everyone had to cram into one Buffett at lunch. There are NO places to have breakfast or lunch served to you here. The sports bar is half the size to make room for a conference room The UGLY There are many things I could put in the " Ugly column" but this is the most disturbing to me...... We were in Suite 836 and our maid Trudi was fabulous and everything was cleaned daily but the hotel is infested with giant cock roaches I have attached images of the last morning I woke up to this big one in the bathroom .. This literally scared me so badly that I was shaking. For it to be this big and on the 8th floor.. Come on!!! We've seen them in the steak house as well but of course didn't take a picture as we didn't want to scare the other guests or ruin their holiday. So very disappointed as this was our usual go to resort in Decembers and Aprils. So sad for such a nice place to go down hill so fast... I know you are trying to make this hotel look better by painting it and changing furniture when you should really be focusing on the cleanliness and the satisfaction of the guests , I would rather have a good meal to eat than a cushion on a seat. I pay $645.00 (can) per day for my room, drinks and meals.. I expect much more! Sorry to see you go Wendy & Stephen Coome

What can I say. good hotel. great food. great staff but lacking a lot of things such as: beach hut spots are impossible to get, unless you are old and wake up at 5:30 am. the beach needs alot of attention (needs more sand and not only more huts. we had construction going on everyday on our 2 week holiday. The drilling and bagging gave us both headaches (the was no peace and quietness so we can enjoy) the volleyball court is surrounded by beach huts. (we were constantly having balls flying towards us, I even stopped one from hitting my wife in the face) the volleyball net/court should be moved somewhere else or they should start offering volleyball classes. mini bars in each room are never stocked unless you ask them too. We got 2 bottles of water the first day, and we had bug front desk everyday in oder to get more. rooms need some work. We were put in a basic room even thought we were on our honeymoon and requested an upgrade. (which they gave us 3 days after). This hotel lacks nightly entertainment. There is no club on the resort or a weekly beach party like other ones offer. You have to walk off the resort if you would like to be entertained. The next we come come to Aruba, we will choose somewhere else.

A great big complete disappointment. The food was horrible. The only thing good about my hotel room was the room service. We stayed at the all adult riu right next door to this one. Horrible terrible food. We ate out every night because the food was that terrible. I even tried to go to this riu for a different flavor. The food was exactly the same. They also make it seem like they have these three amazing dinners at three different rest in the hotel. They all were horrible. You have to wait in line sometimes two hours to make a reservation. It's so not worth it!

Spent a week in early January. Rm. was a very pleasant surprise. A suite with 2 balconies. Staff was very pleasant and made our stay very enjoyable. Look forward to returning as soon as possible!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Stayed 3/7-3/13, first time staying at a Riu property. Drinks B+ Food D- it was much to be desired. I would say if you like hot dogs, burgers, and nachos you would be happy the first day or two. Food selection is very limited; best thing/meal period was breakfast but generally not hot but warmish. 24/7 room service yeah right! Pick from chicken Caesar, chicken club, nachos or 1 of 3 desserts REALLY?!?? I would take the all inclusive drinking and indulge in the great local eats. This place also lacked general hospitality we encountered 4 fantastic employees the rest...wow very unhelpful and almost rude. Icing on the vacation cake was day we departed, went to go shower and grab our luggage out of the room only to be locked out, our door card reader broke, 20 mins delayed in waiting to get in and we missed our scheduled flight home. Thank you Riu, I will NEVER be back!!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Perfect holiday just got back and booking for next year 

  • Riu Palace Aruba

The food is awful. The hotel is old. They should write a book a thousand ways to recycle the same food. Yuck!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Stayed for a week in July , best hotel ever, staff exceptional, rooms dated but big and clean. Will be returning soon

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Just heard the Riu will be closed in 2015 for renovations. Can't get any specific info regarding timeframe. While this resort is very much in need of renovations, they need to be more forthcoming with information so prospective guests & timeshare owners can plan accordingly.

  • Riu Palace Aruba

My two granddaughters and I spent a week in June at Rui and it was fantastic. We had great food, service and weather was perfect. Will for sure be back to the Riu.

  • Riu Palace Aruba

The best hotel in the world!! We had the honeymoon suite and all I can say was holy moly!!! We had ocean view with jacuzzi in the room and on the balcony!!! Everything about this hotel was great

  • Riu Palace Aruba

By far the best hotel on the island!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

When we first checked in the room was dirty with hair in the sinks, etc. they moved us to another room and no complaints since then. Probably the biggest pool of the resorts and easy to get a chair there or on the beach. Staff was very attentive. Buffet food was the best of any all inclusive I've been to, but I was disappointed in the food at the steak house. Overall I would definitely recommend the Riu to anyone visiting Aruba!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

We've stayed for 8 days and it was super-delicious-fantastic hotel!!! The food was THE best!! Everything you can imanging!!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

RIU é o tipo de resort que se vê em filmes; lindo, grande, super infra estrutura para os turistas! Os restaurantes são muito bons! Recomendo!!

    I loved it

  • Riu Palace Aruba

    I loved it

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Hotel, rooms were great. The restaurants were outstanding. The beach needs help. The chairs are old, not enough huts, no organization, needs more sand, and hotel staff to run the beach. The pool area is nice.

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Definately earns five stars , the food is amazing and plenty restaurants to choose from , you are never without a drink in your hard the waiting staff make sure of this, would come back in heartbeat x

  • Riu Palace Aruba

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Loved the Riu, would stay there again.

  • Riu Palace Aruba

An amazing hotel, from the location to the staff to the rooms to the restaurants. A small slice of perfection on the best island in the Caribbean. 10/10

  • Riu Palace Aruba

One of the best all iclusive Hotel in Aruba. If you enjoy fun with no care, thats the right place!!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Fabulous hotel, beautiful location, excellent staff, great food, pool, entertainment, but having to get towels by the pool by ticket only leads to the frustrating practice by seasoned guests to throw a towel on a chaise lounge on the beach or by the pool. Not a fair deal and It became a race at 6:00 a. m. to get a seat!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Very nice hotel and beach! Ocean rooms are worth the extra money to upgrade. The entertainment on the resort needs improvement, better shows etc. Staff were all very nice and friendly. Would definitely go back!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Friendly and helpful staff. food is also excellent loads of choice, and the room is also very big and the bed is big enough to fit eight people in it. Entertainment is also excellent loads to do and with a selection of international drinks to enjoy. My rating 5/5

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Wow I couldn't have picked a nicer place... This was the most cleanest, best food an the amazing service... Thank You Riu I will so be back next year!

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Had one of the rooms with obstructed view by decorative stucco walls. It was noisy in the hallways with the doors slamming as others entered their rooms.- probably because there is no carpeting in the hallways. Restaurants were good. Pool and pool staff were nice and friendly.

  • Riu Palace Aruba

Fantastic hotel in a fantastic place!
